In der Mystery-Jugendserie "School Spirits" wacht Maddie mit einer gewaltigen Kopfwunde in ihrer Schule wacht und muss feststellen, dass sie tot ist - und nun ein Geist. Wie sie gestorben ist, daran kann sich Maddie nicht mehr erinnern. Ihr Geist ist jedoch in der Schule gefangen - und sie ist nicht allein. Eine Handvoll Geister streifen ebenso durch die Gänge der Schule, die sie allesamt aus mystischen Gründen nicht verlassen können und sich in einer Selbsthilfegruppe versammelt. Gemeinsam mit den anderen Geistern beginnt Maddie das Rätsel ihres eigenen Todes zu erforschen. Bei ihrer Suche stolpert sie aber auch über weitere Geheimnisse
